CLOUD
CHAMBER, St. James, Piccadilly, London. |

Commissioners:
Rebecca Hossack Gallery.
Made as a temporary installation in the sculpture garden of
St. James. This quiet garden in the centre of London is a
place of refuge for the homeless and a peaceful retreat for
office workers. The sculpture therefore works as a silent
meditative space as well as drawing attention to the needs
of the homeless.I also made a fire cairn which was fueled
from wood taken from skips and worked as a bread oven and
place to boil a kettle.
The Cloud Chamber was made using a hazel basket frame clad
with stone. It measured 2.4m wide by 2.1m high. |
