BEEHIVE
SHELTER, Seeley Copse, Goodwood, Sussex. |
| |
Commissioners:
South East Arts, Goodwood Estate and West Sussex County Coucil.
Brief: To make a sculpture from materials to hand in a small
copse on the Goodwood Estae. The work was to fit with the
place and slowly return to nature. I was also to run two weekend
workshops for teachers.
I researched the work at Singleton Open Air Museum and eventually
based the work on scaled-up bee skep. It was made from woven
hazel plastered with traditional daub (mud, straw and cow
dung). |
